One of the hottest sellers for Maruti  will finally get a major facelift. We discuss how the new Baleno 2022 will shape up.

From what we can see, the front has grown a bit wider and has a bit of a flatter hood line mimicking the Tata Altroz. It also now features a more prominent smile along with sharper L-shaped LED headlamps. The front now gets larger air intakes adding to the muscle the previous generation lacked. Most body panels have been redesigned as well to help make it look wider. The rear has transformed with the addition of the L-shaped LED taillights.

The interior has evolved majorly with a fresh layout. The older screen which was part of the dash layout has now been replaced with a floating larger unit. The steering wheel too looks like it has been borrowed from the swift. The AC vents have become slimmer and sit below the infotainment system. The 2022 Baleno will most likely feature wireless apple car play and android auto in higher trims. What is expected but not confirmed will be the inclusion of a fully digital instrument cluster replacing the older analogue setup. From the spy shots, the climate control switches look to have been inspired by the Ignis.

Sources say the 1.2L petrol motor will continue to be sold in 83 and 90hp states of tune with the latter being assisted by a mild hybrid motor.

The Baleno competes against the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz currently which are newer products comparatively. Can the 2022 baleno recreate the magic once again?
